In the year 1993, Mercedes brought forth the C Class in order to replace the 190, the series is famous ever since. Even though, this C Class series isn’t the entry level model of the brand anymore, it is still quite crucial. The existing W205 model was launched in the year 2014 and now is available in four various body styles with various engine options ranging from four cylinders to AMG developed V8s. now it is deemed one of the highest selling models of the brand, here are some unknown facts about Mercedes C Class.

  • In the United States, the brand just replaced its good old 7G seven speed transmission with the latest nine speed unit. This was implemented in order to make the C Class work even smoother and raise the fuel economy. This was deemed the only transmission option in the country but many people are unknown to the fact that the C Class is available in the market nonetheless with a six speed manual. This option was also available in the stateside but the manual has slowly being fading away in the US market.

  • Albeit, the C Class made its mark as an entry level ride, it has evolved significantly over the years. As a matter of fact, the existing C Class is nearly the same size as the original Mercedes E Class. The CLA is now the new entry level Mercedes which has evoked the brand to make the C Class larger and more lavish. Now, the C Class is deemed as a mid-size car which is unlike the BMW 3 Series and Audi 4 which are compact sedans. The C Class comes with a larger size and has much more room than its counterparts.
  • The Mercedes C class comes equipped with Mercedes Pre Safe system that is able to stop the car immediately and automatically when it detects an imminent crash. This feature is very common in the cars today, however, you must not be aware that the Pre Safe system can also close any windows is they are open and adjust the seats to a safer position before the impact.

  • Many new models utilize the active aerodynamics to enhance the fuel efficiency.
